As a participant in the 2024 Miss Maryland pageant competition , I am passionately committed to shedding light on two critical issues: sickle cell anemia and mental health. My platform is not just about raising awareness; it's about fostering understanding, support, and tangible change in these areas. Sickle cell anemia affects millions worldwide, yet it remains a misunderstood and often overlooked condition. Through my platform, I aim to educate communities about the challenges faced by individuals living with sickle cell disease, advocate for better healthcare access and resources, and promote early detection and intervention strategies. Additionally, I recognize the profound impact of mental health on individuals, families, and communities. Stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health issues often prevent people from seeking help or accessing essential services.

 

During my reign, I will work tirelessly to promote mental health awareness, combat stigma, and advocate for improved mental healthcare services and support networks. Through speaking engagements, community outreach programs, and collaborative initiatives with healthcare organizations and advocacy groups, I will use my platform to spark conversations, drive change, and create a more inclusive and supportive society for those affected by sickle cell anemia and mental health challenges.
